Details:

From my research it looks like the basic WD-O was used on various make cars from between 1935 and 1950. It has automatic choke actuated by engine heat. Its OE/OEM part number and manufacturer are both 478S. Apparently Carter built the basic WD-O carb, and made minor changes depending on what car manufacturer it was being shipped.

This came off a 1939 Packard 120, straight 8, Flathead engine. After I researched it, found it was not the correct carb for 1939 model, which instead used a Stromboli, so located and installed carb, no longer need this one.
